Traditional garment that somehow makes everyone look elegant (until they try to use the bathroom).

Types of kimono:

• 浴衣 yukata: Summer cotton kimono, most casual
• 振袖 furisode: Long-sleeved for unmarried women
• 留袖 tomesode: Formal for married women
• 袴 hakama: Divided skirt/pants style

How to kimono:

• Left side over right (unless you’re deceased)
• Collar pulled back to show nape
• Small steps only (not a design flaw, a feature)
• Elegance over comfort
• Fair warning: That 帯 obi (belt) is wrapped tighter than your vacation budget.
