kimono 着物
Traditional garment that somehow makes everyone look elegant (until they try to use the bathroom).
Types of kimono:
- 浴衣 yukata: Summer cotton kimono, most casual
- 振袖 furisode: Long-sleeved for unmarried women
- 留袖 tomesode: Formal for married women
- 袴 hakama: Divided skirt/pants style
How to kimono:
- Left side over right (unless you’re deceased)
- Collar pulled back to show nape
- Small steps only (not a design flaw, a feature)
- Elegance over comfort
- Fair warning: That 帯 obi (belt) is wrapped tighter than your vacation budget.
